If every home in Alyn and Deeside got a smart meter...

We could save: 2,167 tonnes of carbon per year. That's equivalent to the savings made by: 98,508 mature trees.

Smart meters are the next generation of gas and electricity meters.

They are being installed in homes across Great Britain at no extra cost, to replace the traditional meters including prepay key meters.  They measure how much gas and electricity you’re using, as well as what it’s costing you and display this on a handy in-home display.

With a better understanding of your usage, it’s easier to see where you can make small changes to reduce your energy consumption and lower your energy emissions. This could lead to lower energy bills and a smaller carbon footprint.

Smart meters and the information they provide will also help Britain to better manage energy demand and supply, and make the best and most efficient use of wind and solar power.

If every household in Britain got a smart meter, the CO2 savings Britain could make would be equivalent to the savings made by around 70 million trees2.

Smart Energy GB is the not-for-profit, government-backed campaign helping everyone in Britain understand the importance of smart meters and their benefits to people and the environment.

Our national campaign is reaching homes and small businesses across England, Scotland and Wales.
